Areas of Parallelograms and Triangles
Chapter Overview
The area of a parallelogram = base x height. The area of a triangle = (1/2) x base x height. Figures on the same base and between the same parallels have equal areas. Theorem: parallelograms on the same base and between the same parallels are equal in area. Theorem: triangles on the same base and between the same parallels are equal in area. A median divides a triangle into two triangles of equal area.
Topics Covered
